It’s not nearly as difficult as you think. Imagine yourself managing your queue of movie downloads on your PC from your Android on the go, or using your iPhone to sort and rearrange your playlist for a house party while you’re on your way home.
All this and more, it’s all possible. It’s not new technology either as remote desktop applications have been around for a while, but the one we’re recommending here is a notch above the rest. The best thing of all? It’s completely free for personal use.
Step 1. Create an account
Head over to Team Viewer and create a new account for yourself. Nothing complicated here.
Step 2. Install the desktop client
In order for you to remotely access your computer, you will need to install the desktop client for Team Viewer. Once you’ve installed the application and signed in, it will keep running in the background ready to connect your computer to a remote — this remote could either be your smartphone or any web browser.
Step 3. Install the app on your phone
You get the app for both Android and iPhone. Once you’ve installed the application on your phone, all you have to do is login with the ID that you created on the website and connect with your computer.
Of course, your computer has to be connected to the Internet and with the desktop client running.
But that’s all, it’s as easy at that
Once you’re connected, you’ll be presented with a virtual keyboard and mouse, with which you can use your computer as you would while physically using it. The web login feature has the same tools in case you would like to control your PC from another computer.
This app is like the Pandora’s box for any geek. After a while, you start doing ridiculous things like editing Excel files and using filters on photographs from your phone, then emailing those edited files to yourself.
Sometimes you just surf the Internet on your computer from the Internet on your phone. Why? Because it’s fun.
