Taking a leaf out from NASA mission control central, Pasadena based startup Leftronic is turning startups everywhere into space age hubs of business. At one point or the other, we’ve all been infatuated by the image of stern looking men peeking at large screens displaying streams of numbers and figures — and they do it at the stock exchange, they do it at space stations — so why can’t you do it for your startup?

It’s a metric-driven world

It’s common knowledge that most startups in the tech and online space operate around a key bunch of numbers, i.e. the core metrics around which the day to day performance and progress is tracked. For an online publishing company, this would probably mean page views and number of clicks. For an shopping website, it would be number of conversions and revenue.

At any rate, some of these metrics are going to be more important for you compared to others, your unique combination depending on how your operation works. Leftronic takes those most important metrics and displays them in one place — so as a business owner, you know exactly how you’re doing at one glance.

How the display systems work

It’s so simple that the new intern in office will have it up and running in a minute. Leftronic currently provides integration with 16 web services including Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Twitter, Facebook, MailChimp, and Salesforce; getting the data to be displayed is a matter of punching in your account details and selecting the widgets. Choosing templates and metrics is a drag and drop affair.

The look and feel of the display can be customized based on your preferences or branding, for instance; you could use the background of Mahogany wood with graphs and numbers displaying in the foreground in black. This data can be displayed on one screen or spread out across twenty screens, depending how much data you want displayed.

Pricing and final thoughts

For the standard offerings, pricing starts at $42 / month for two dashboards and goes up to $250 / month for up to twenty dashboards. Beyond that you have a white label solution where you get access to features like custom branding, client dashboards and client management systems. The concept is quite amazing, in fact, it’s a little surprising why no one thought of this yet — given the rate at which tech startups are springing up.

You could set up a customer facing display in the waiting room of your company, so that visitors can look at real time interaction your customers are having with you. Internally, individual departments could have their own dashboards; bringing a sense of transparency and urgency to the business. Or, you could even go space age and built a special silo with endless displays spread across tracking every breath your organization takes.

All in all, Leftronic is a right product at just the right time and it’s not hard to imagine these dashboards becoming a common practice.
