Internet advertisements companies are the ‘Big Brother’ of this age. They keep a close watch on what you’re doing on the internet. They know your preferences, they know your favorites. There was not much that one could do to stop them. Until today…
Here’s a new add-on from Mozilla that you would love – Collusion. This Mozilla add-on, which is a free download, is basically a spy that spies on the spies of the ‘Big Brother’. This wonderful add-on records the third-party trackers that are trying to access your information. Look at this demo to understand how it works. It visualizes the information, shows you an interactive picture on who’s is tracking you from where.
However, you can only track who’s tracking you through this add-on for now. Mozilla Foundation has raised funds from the Ford Foundations and has some big plans to carry this experiment forward and build make it more useful to people. Now, it only has informational value and no utility value to it.
Who knows, if this experiment become a success, we might finally be free from the clutches of the evil ‘Big Brother’ and his spies. To know more about this, read the complete story here.
